Flexible IT Support in Evolution with a Client Ambassador

We have been working with our client since 2018, both in collaboration with their on-premises individual, and later as the sole provider of IT services. We have seen them through kitting out their entire outfit, downsizing, upgrading systems and migrating to the cloud.

Rob became their dedicated Client Ambassador in 2025.

    Supporting client growth into a new premises and deployment of new systems; collaborating with internal technician; extension to drivers; cloud migration; then a downturn and loss of the internal technician; now back to growth and development.
  • Timeframe

    The relationship has developed from collaboration with on-premises individual, to becoming the sole provider of IT services over eight years.
  • In 2018 when our client moved into their current premises, we kitted out the entire building; including network cabinets, cabling, on-premises servers, desktops, Wi-Fi, secured and segregated VLANS, and voice telecoms. We provided ongoing IT support in collaboration with a dedicated representative on-premises: They took care of the first-line triage, and we stepped in for anything regarding second and third-line tickets, planning, holiday cover etc. It worked very well.

    Over the years we helped developed remote access for employees using tablets for delivery drivers who could connect to on-premises servers and access the latest information and updates about their assigned jobs that day (though this has since been rendered obsolete after migrating to the cloud).

    In 2019, the client had a breach of their on-premises email server which we recovered them from (there is a case study). These days however, no-one uses on-premises servers for email!

    Migration to MS365 cloud took place in 2023 which, involved reconfiguration of all site computers as well as data connectivity. Then in 2024 the company downsized which led to the loss of our on-premises collaborator but also led to the expansion of our role to cover all aspects of IT. This arrangement has remained in place ever since.

    In 2025 we replaced the on-premises phone system and introduced a cloud service (VoIP) on long-term ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ grounds.
